EENSAT PROJECT LAUNCH IN ADDIS ABABA
The EENSAT project had it's official kick-off during a well-attended workshop in HoAREC/N Conference Hall, Addis Ababa, on Thursday 5 October, 2017. About 70 stakeholders participated in this event. During the morning session, keynote presentations were delivered by the Dean of the University of Twente, Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), the Director of Nuffic and by the Royal Dutch Embassy in Addis Ababa. Thereafter the EENSAT project was presented, first through an overview presentation, and subsequently by more detailed presentations on the three key domains, namely education, research and outreach. The morning session was completed by two presentations from Ethiopian private sector stakeholders, to elaborate further on the private sector requirements.
The afternoon consisted of breakaway sessions to discuss into more detail the EENSAT project objectives and get feedback from the various stakeholders. The three groups discussed on education, research and outreach and the rapporteur presented the findings during a final plenary session thereafter. During the closure of the workshop the consortium agreement was signed.
Presentations are available in the download section of this page.
